The first step you have to take in steps to planning a wedding is to get help. Planning a wedding is a big job and if this wedding is for yourself the more help you get the better and less stressful it will be.
Below are the basic steps to planning a wedding.
The first thing you need to know is what your budget is. How much money do you have to spend on the whole wedding? Without knowing what your budget is you can't begin to plan.
If you are trying to figure out a budget you may want to get yourself a wedding binder and subdivide the binder into categories such as - clothing, food, ceremony, music, rings, transportation etc.
To figure out the cost of each category you can either go on net and research the approximate costs or you can do it in person or by phone and asking quotes from the different establishments in your area that you are thinking of using for your wedding.
Create a checklist system and each time you have finished one category check it off and go to the next. This will save you plenty of time.
After you have a budget the next important thing to do is plan a date for the wedding. All further steps to planning a wedding will depend on this.
Below are just a few planning steps you either have to book or do in advance:
Wedding Party - ask friends and or relatives if they will be part of the wedding party.
Guest list - get a number of people. A lot of other planning steps such as a reception hall, food and beverages will depend on this.
Ceremony - book a church or reception hall as they need to be booked month's in advance. You'll also need to book a minister for the service.
Rings - choose and order your wedding bands.
Clothing - wedding dress, groom tux, bridesmaid dresses.
Music - DJ or a live Band.
Food - who will be the caterer?
Wedding Cake - choose what kind of wedding cake you would like and order it.
Hair - book a stylist well in advance
