A Guide to Destination Wedding Planning - Relationships - Weddings

Weddings are expensive, and with good reason. Your wedding day is a special, once in a lifetime (hopefully) event where you can celebrate finding a soul mate and declaring your love and devotion for each other in front of dozens or hundreds of friends and family members.

But, like I said, it is expensive. There are literally hundreds of decisions that have to be made and one of the biggest is where the wedding should be. You would think that traveling to a different place to, a destination wedding, as they are called, would be an expensive choice. But that is not always so. In fact, with proper destination wedding planning, you can save a little to a lot of money.

Destination wedding planning seems daunting; not only do you have to plan a wedding, but you have to plan it in a different city? And true, destination wedding planning can lead to some fights, arguments, and certainly, some higher cost. However, there are ways that some clever destination wedding planning can save you money.

First of all, destination wedding planning can address another of the big issues facing many that are planning their very own wedding: the number and list of people to invite. By having a destination wedding, you can actually use this to your benefit. You might have some aunt or uncle that you are not particularly close with, but you know that you would absolutely hurt their feelings if you did not invite them.

If you have a destination wedding in another state, country or continent, you would still be able to invite them, knowing full well that they would never travel that far to go to a wedding. In this way, some careful destination wedding planning can save you some serious money by limiting your guest list considerably, without hurting anyone's feelings.

Whether or not you go with traditional wedding planning or destination wedding planning, you should keep the travel option open. Even if you do not want to have a destination wedding, an attractive option for many couples is to take the money they might spend on a wedding and instead elope to another country and get married there well on a vacation.

Then, returning home, throwing one or two smaller parties with close family and friends. Whatever you do, keeping your options and thinking outside of the box could help you save money and still have the wedding you want.
