The Perfect Wedding Needs a Wedding Planning Checklist - Relationships - Weddings

If you are about to begin your wedding planning then you may be wondering why it is you need a wedding planning checklist and why they seem to crop up in every magazine and website you look at. The truth is a wedding planning checklist is a vital tool to any bride who wants to organize their perfect wedding.

Despite them being so vitally important, they are freely available from a variety of source. You can download them for free from websites and often as part of a wider wedding planning package, you will also find them printed in bridal magazines, wedding directories and wedding planning books. Typically they will follow a generic template which covers an 18 month planning timeframe and a traditional style of wedding.

With weddings being highly personalized, any checklist you choose will likely need some editing to make it fit with your wedding plans and style. You may also need to adjust the timeline to fit with the time you have left till your wedding day. Editing a checklist is not difficult but you do need to take your time and be sure you have covered everything you want within the time allotted.

Having a wedding planning checklist on your computer is the easiest way to use one. It is quick and easy to print one out, edit it further should you need to and email copies to those closest to you. I would recommend downloading one from a good wedding website, and if you can get one with extras such as a wedding planning guide and wedding budget planner do so as these will also be of much use to you. Should find a good checklist in a magazine or book then copy it onto your computer so you have a hard copy you can edit and print out as needed.

Using a wedding planning checklist is simple. You just need to refer to it on a daily, weekly or monthly basis (depending on how close you are to your wedding day) to see which tasks need to completed at that time. As you work your way through the checklist tick off those tasks which are done. The checklist can also help you to make more detailed mini lists which will become useful as you get nearer to the wedding day and there is more to be done.

Always have a copy of your checklist in your wedding planning notebook and make sure you refer to it often. Not only will it tell you what you should and need to be doing, but it will also let you see how your wedding planning is progressing and whether you are on schedule or not.
